Craziness

756am tue 2.9.8

(Tobacco plants)

Things are crazy.
First, Fr. Arul and I are in his home town due to the death of his grandmother. We travelled all of yesterday after mass, riding 4 buses and an autorickshaw.

Second, my cough has officially developed into a lung infection. And by officially, I mean I'm pretty sure.

(how crowded buses can get during a holiday)

Third; as always it’s embarrassing to be western. During mass today, the parish priest noticed I was sitting on the floor like everyone else, so he told the altar servers to get me a chair. Mind you, this all happened in a foreign language. So the altar servers and the sisters get me a chair.

And I'm sitting in the front, and the only one with a chair... So not only am I genetically advantaged on height, but now also prostheticaly towering.
Oh the joys of being a guest.
