Sick and stuff

So I like to take Tuesday mornings off, but today I had hoped to go say goodbye to a few friends so I planned to wake up early take a shower and get off to morning prayer. (I was also supposed to return a prayer book that Sr. M let me borrow.)

BUT... turns out that the day I decide to take off, I'm sick... Go fig.

It may have been what I ate last night (which was pretty much the only thing I ate yesterday)... something I swore I would never eat, but a friend of mine was leaving, so I gave in... Dominoes pizza.

Over the last few days I've been hanging out with the French for dinner, mostly because they are the only group of people that goes to evening prayer with me. And though I don't always understand what they're saying (they speak French often, and I certainly don't), I figure I'm about as involved in the conversation as I would be in an English group, since I tend towards quiteness and one on one conversations.

I think it's interesting the cultural differences and language barriers that exist even among the volunteers...

the way the french show you their love is to invite you to dinner, the way the japanese show you their love is to ask you to work with them, and I haven't figured out what that means about how Americans show love.

the thing that I find speaks more than anything else though, is the union of hearts in prayer, and in service to Christ.
